Abstract—In the calculation of mixed-transport capacity of pollutants which were discharged from bank outfall of wide straight rivers or reservoirs, the lateral diffusion coefficient can better demonstrate the mixed-diffusion characteristics near the bank than the transverse diffusion coefficient. For deep rivers and reservoirs, the vertical diffusion coefficient is one of the important water quality parameters. Based on the theoretical calculation method of pollutant mixing zone, the unified equations of the standard curve and curved surface outside the borders of pollutant mixing zone were deduced, including the characteristic parameters of maximum length Ls, maximum width bs and maximum depth ds et al. The shape of curve is akin to semi-elliptic, and the shape of curved surface is akin to part ellipsoid, which is similar to the pollution of the mixing zone. The calculation equation of lateral diffusion coefficient or vertical diffusion coefficient which was determined by the maximum length and maximum width or maximum depth of the outer boundary of pollutant mixing zone near the discharge outfall and the mean velocity were put forward in this paper. The calculation method of the lateral diffusion coefficient or vertical diffusion coefficient which was overall controlled by the area or volume of pollutant mixing zone and the practical method of vertical diffusion coefficient which was determined by the concentration of surface transverse integration was proposed in the paper. The lateral diffusion coefficient of the downstream of Guangfu River in low water season was given, which was 0.27 m/s by analyzing the data from field observation.

Application of Decline Curve Analysis for Estimating Different Properties of Closed Fractured Reservoirs for Vertical Wells
In this paper, decline curve analysis is used for estimating different parameters of bounded naturally fractured reservoirs. This analysis technique is based on rate transient technique, and it is shown that if production rate is plotted against time on a semi-log graph, straight lines are obtained that can be used to determine important parameters of the closed fractured reservoirs. The equati...
متن کاملPseudo Steady State Gas Flow in Tight Reservoir under Dual Mechanism Flow
Gas reservoirs with low permeability (k<0.1 mD) are among the unconventional reservoirs and are commonly termed as "Tight Gas Reservoirs". In conventional gas reservoirs that have high permeability, the flow of gas is basically controlled by the reservoir permeability and it is calculated using the Darcy equation. In these reservoirs, gas flow due to gas diffusion is ignored compared to Dar...

متن کاملNumerical investigation of effect of crack geometrical parameters on hydraulic fracturing process of hydrocarbon reservoirs
Hydraulic fracturing (HF), as a stimulation technique in petroleum engineering, has made possible the oil production from reservoirs with very low permeability. The combination of horizontal drilling and multiple HF with various perforation angles has been widely used to stimulate oil reservoirs for economical productions. Despite the wide use of HF, there are still ambiguous aspects that requi...
متن کاملObtaining relations between the Magic Formula coefficients and tire physical properties
This paper introduces a technique that relates the coefficients of the Magic Formula tire model to the physical properties of the tire. For this purpose, the tire model is developed by ABAQUS commercial software. The output of this model for the lateral tire force is validated by available tire information and then used to identify the tire force properties. The Magic Formula coefficients are o...
